Johannes Andersen is best known for his designs of coffee tables, of which he had almost countless variations, bar stools and table tops.

By the time he closed the doors of his studio at the age of 80, he had established himself as an internationally recognized furniture designer, and he had been a major contributor to Danish design throughout the 20th century. Andersen died in 1991.
